Sunset over West Fell

After visiting Clickychick's Mum in the care home we then popped into the new studio just to have another look at how things were shaping up.

Then we decided to slightly detour to look at the evening light and see if there were any decent landscape shots. By the time we got to our intended view point the sun was lower than we had hoped. However I got some shots and this was the one I preferred.

West fell is to the north of the Blencathra/Carrock fell area looking out towards the Solway plain. Caldbeck the home of John Peel Cumberland's famous huntsman. Born in the 1760s and living until 1854 he is best known for the song written by his friend John Woodcock Graves. The first line is "D'ye ken John Peel with his coat so grey" please note the word is grey not gay. Red coats were not worn by the huntsmen of fell packs. Being made of Herdwick wool from local sheep the coat would be grey.
