Lady Capel's Bridge No 163

Another gorgeous day, so I took the opportunity to get snapping! Drove out to Hunton Bridge and had a lovely walk along the canal.

Lady Capel's Bridge No. 163 is a Grade 2 listed bridge on the Grand Union Canal. The bridge is only a footbridge on the edge of The Grove estate, which allows the towpath to cross from the east to the west side of the canal.

In 2013 the bridge was in desperate need of repair and repainting. This was carried out in July of that year by the Waterway Recovery Group volunteers. They repointed and repaired the damaged brickwork before repainting the bridge in a white breathable paint. And so this iconic bridge was restored to its former glory.
