View from the top

Bathurst's main claim to fame is the world famous racetrack known as Mt Panorama. The Mount is situated on the southern side of town and most of the year is just one of our streets with a speed limit of 60k/h. Most visitors to town do what is known as a "lap of the mount" when you realise how skilful the drivers are tearing around at high speeds.

Today I picked young Max up from school which is at the bottom of the mountain near Pitt Straight. The weather was dismal or worse. We decided to do a lap to see if we could find any snow, which we didn't, but could see some white across on the top of the distant hills. Some of the roads were closed.

Anyone who watches the famous Race each October would be familiar with the large sign across the mountain "MOUNT PANORAMA" . You can see this from all around the local area and is a great advertisement for the race and our city. This is a blip of the sign from the top and side, it is made of concrete and gets a new paint job from time to time. The weather was sleeting and windy so I didn't stay enjoying the view for long.

I did this in mono as the colours looked faded due to the poor light, there was not much colour to take out to be honest.
