EFL on the towpath

As I woke sun was spattering through the trees outside the window and we were soon driving under curved red-brick bridges and into dripping locks.

We stopped to fill the water tanks at Haywood Junction mid-way through a lesson in which the students (and me, John and Jürgen) each had sentences from a story on strips of paper and had to find the missing parts by asking everyone questions. It was good to see them engaged enough to carry on the exercise on the canal bank.

We passed the Wedgwood factory and the factory village of Etruria.

(A bit before Great Haywood junction along the Trent and Mersey Canal to Etruria.)
