'Ganders and geese

There are a few reasons why I'm glad my hubby is a Michigander and one of them is the ginormous amounts of geese here. They're not the nicest birds in the world (I was bitten in the butt by one in the past), and their sheer numbers are a bit of a nuisance, but to me the sound of geese flying over is breathtaking.
Especially in the winter, when it's snowing and the wind is blowing. Like today.

I was in the yard taking some black & white pics of our maple earlier. Trying to catch some flakes with the flash, and at the same time trying not to freeze, when I heard the honking and before I knew it these guys and gals were over our yard and gone into the distance.
Ah, if only this Blip had sound :)
