It's a Dog's Life!

This is Zara! She's a 5 year old Akita and my daughter and Grandsons' newly acquired pet. I am rather wary of large dogs, but I soon overcame my hesitance with Zara, as she has a lovely nature. She is clearly used to children and is great with the boys, who adore her. Already she has made herself at home and settled in like she'd been there years. She came from a rescue shelter, and was underweight when they got her a couple of weeks ago. As a consequence she loves her food, and will soon be the correct weight for her breed.

Here she is taking a nap on the cool floor as it was too hot to lie on her own quilty bed!
