Speckled Wood

This Speckled Wood butterfly came back to the same shrub and settled on a leaf several times as if it wanted me to get some good photos of it. I got some shots of it with its wings open as well but I liked this one better.

It has been some time since my last visit but this afternoon I went to the sanctuary and walked one of their dogs again. I'd hoped to pick some dandelion leaves for Rosie after the walk but unfortunately the grass had recently been cut at the spots where I used to pick them.
