On the Go!

We had a slow start today, but once underway, were like the proverbial rolling stone! Phil and B spent some time after our mid-morning breakfast on the latter's project, while Z and I returned to CreativiTea to do another fused glass project each. The place was packed, no doubt due to the heavy rain in our area today forcing families to seek interesting activities under cover.

We met the lads for a very late lunch in Fairhaven, after which Z and B made a quick perusal of the goods on offer at the mid-week farmers' market, a smaller version of the main one on Saturday morning, near the restaurant. I met them in Fairhaven Toy Garden, as B wanted to use the gift cards for that excellent toy shop that we'd given him for his birthday and Christmas. He and Z perused the shop's attractions several times, ending up with an eclectic collection of items that pleased him.

I made them small sandwiches and some homemade applesauce for a light supper before the day's main attraction -- the climbing walls at our local YMCA. Wednesday evening is one of the "family climb" times; Phil and I opted to be photographers, and tried to deal with the challenges of very different types of light in various parts of the walls. Z and B, who are excellent athletes, climbed the easier wall a couple of times, and then had a go at the more difficult wall. You can see Z here and B here climbing that wall, which is nearly 70 feet / 21.3 meters high and much more challenging. Both of them reached the top, and we were very impressed with their strength, skill, and determination.

We finished the evening at our food co-op, picking up a few necessities, followed by some local yogurt and Granny's Granola (my secret recipe), and the treats that Z and B had purchased at the farmers' market earlier.

It's now nearly 10:30pm, so I won't be commenting tonight, but hope to catch up a bit on Thursday.
