Finished -- and More!

We awoke to another cold, rainy day, but fortunately, Z and I had planned to return to Fairhaven to make earrings and to continue exploring the projects available at CreativiTea.

Z is experienced in selecting beads and making earrings, and she brought three pairs of beautiful earrings in shades of blue to me as a gift when she and her brother arrived on Monday. Today, in addition to making two pairs of earrings for other family members, she helped me with the pair I struggled to finish.

Later, at CreativiTea, we made glass coasters. Once again, Z's confident color selections and skilled fingers far surpassed mine! Her home will have five new ones; mine, just two. In addition, she also decorated two pottery switchplate covers (the protective cover over wall-mounted light switches) for her bedroom, including this beauty, my favorite of all her art work today.

Here are all of our coasters (mine are the two with large and small "beads") and both of Z's switch plate covers, ready to go into the kilns at CreativiTea. The glass projects will be ready next Monday afternoon and the two pottery ones on Tuesday; the store will ship Zs to her home.

We were thrilled today to receive the finished projects from our Monday evening class sooner than expected! Z had followed the pattern perfectly, and made thick layers of crushed glass over the pattern, and you can see the result on the right side of ttoday's blip. (I took a minimalist approach.)

Blue skies and sunshine appeared mid-afternoon, and we stopped at Icing on the Cake on our way home to buy some delicious cupcakes for dessert tonight.

Tomorrow evening I'm going to a Bellingham Bells baseball game with B. He's used to seeing professional baseball and football games in Seattle, so this should be an interesting experience for him. And for me as well, as I'm not a sports fan, but a collegiate summer baseball team that has as its mascot a man in a hamster suit (Dinger, the Bellinghamster) is certainly worth checking out!
