Fireworks!

So many images from the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, it was hard to pick one. The photos aren't particularly 'clever' or even that good, but I couldn't let the day pass without choosing one of those taken at Celtic Park on Wednesday evening. So here's one from right at the end of the Ceremony, with the colourful dancers and the fireworks in full flow.

Earlier in the day I had done a walk with the Ramblers at Whitelee Wind Farm and there are some good shots taken on that, but it would be remiss of me not to mark Wednesday 23rd July 2014 without a Commonwealth Games picture.

The Opening Ceremony itself was quirky, a bit odd, but definitely with a large dose of Glasgow humour thrown in. What was really noticeable was the colour; it was certainly vibrant from that point of view. And the atmosphere was something special, and in my experience unique. Let the Games begin!
