St Mary, Chesham

Still feeling well and making the most of being so, caught up on some chores and then visited Allison for a chat and a spot of lunch, it was nice to sit in her garden in the shade and enjoy the cooling breeze! Getting in the car to come home was a different matter.......lordy it was hot!!

This evening we went to bell ringing practice at Chesham, to get to the ringing room you have to ascend a steep and narrow spiral stone staircase from the Church, then walk along the roof of the south aisle and through a very low door! The ringing room has a huge beam across it at head height, which can make ringing slightly difficult, although the ropesight is not really impaired, eye contact with fellow ringers, especially those of us that are not so tall, is!

We were, as always, made very welcome and I rang a touch of Bob Doubles inside, not a huge success but not a complete disaster either, determined to get back to ringing!

I've been to some towers that have unusual accesses but this is the most unusual!

Caught up with the massive medal haul for England and Scotland at the games today! The Brownlee brothers must be some of the fittest people on the planet!
