Beastie

I went out this morning to take water to the chickens and saw this beastie sitting on the water jug. I was fairly convinced that by the time I went and got my camera that it would be gone, but it wasn't. Unfortunately I only managed to get two photographs of it from behind before it flew off, so didn't get any of its head!

I am calling it a generic 'beastie' for now, until I can figure out whether it's a dragonfly or a damselfly and which type. The identification book I have is not proving much use.
