Newark

After a train, a bus and a crowded plane I arrived at Newark - 9 pm local time, 2 am UK. Immigration was fine, but then they wouldn't let me go through security till midnight, because my connection is tomorrow.

There's not much to do landside at Newark. Dunkin donuts is all.

This picture is of the food court airside, which also has a Dunkin franchise. I had a vegetable juice instead because my body is a temple.

I brought a sleeping mat with me for this extended layover, but they pipe CNN at full volume everywhere. Even with my earplugs I didn't manage more than a couple of hours sleep.
