Beautiful skies....
I was out and about in Manchester today after weeks of home working. A lot of people think this ideal but I find it hard to settle and have to be very strict with myself and set daily targets with treats at the end. Even so I've had to work Saturday and Sunday as well.
I had my haircut in my favourite BarberBarber in Barton Arcade. Then went for lunch in a pizza restaurant called SLICE on Stevenson Square in the über cool N4. It's old style pizza like in Naples or Rome and not the doughy American varieties we are used to. In my humble opinion it's the best pizza in the city atm...
I went past Victoria Station and got talking to one of the engineers who is working on the new roof to the station. It gets bigger every time I pass and it is looking wonderful already. He said that it will be finished by Christmas. It's a bit chaotic in that part of town with work on the station and the new tram line along Corporation Street going on together. There's supposed to be a new Hotel Indigo going up on the piece of land between URBIS and the station but it seems to have been delayed while the transport infrastructure goes in.
I liked the sky in this picture with the cranes against it. They hoist the roof parts into position in a three hour period in the middle of the night when the trams and trains don't use the station....
