Grit and determination in this young lad, as he battled, successfully, to stay upright whilst in the whitewater below the weir he'd just come over. Have no fear, had he gone in, his mother - a well experienced coach - was directly behind him. Don't know that I've have recovered so well from that angle. Then again, this lanky loon's centre of gravity is a lot higher!

River Ness Marathon event today, and I took my sea kayak loaded with photo gear to what's normally a mid-stream island by this weir. Today it was, but for a few rocks, submerged! Plenty water for mid-Summer.
