Pigeon Last Post

Jazzy dog and I were startled yesterday by a loud bang. Not thunder but a woodpigeon flying into the window. I was relieved to see it fly away unharmed. We have had this happen before and an imprint has been left on the pane by the bird's dander. I heard a bang today on the other side of the house but didn't investigate immediately.

This woodpigeon was by the back door. :( It's only a squab, look at its fluffy feathers, too young to die. Thankfully it looks as though it broke its neck and didn't suffer.

It's a bang and then tinkling when woodpigeons get into the glasshouses. That glass isn't as tough as domestic glass. Are pigeons stupid, or is that other birds fly into windows and glass also but being smaller don't cause themselves and the structure as much damage?

Great feedback from the agent re The Homestead open house. He said there was a party atmosphere and he expects a number of offers to be made. There's another in a fortnight.
