On the road to Jasper - Mount Fitzwilliam

Drove from Clearwater to Jasper today. Took about 6 hours in total with a lunch break. Pretty easy drive along wide well maintained roads hosting plenty of big cars, flat bed trucks and RVs. Scenery spectacular especially once we got to Yellowhead Pass and Mount Robson area. Everything is on a huge scale over here : cars, food, distances, trains, etc etc

Stopped off for lunch at Mount Robson which sits at the bottom of the highest mountain of the Rockies - only 25% of folk make it to the top. Saw some more bear at the side of the road. Jasper is a bit smaller than we realised - we are staying at the Pyramid lake resort which is a wee bit out of town but very pretty - with great views of the mountains. D had to have an early night with heat stroke - the day had been very warm and sunny and I think we both underestimated the power of the sun at this altitude (4000ft).
