Through the trees

I managed to get back to the River Ness today to take a blip as part of the oneriver tag by Pennybun, The daily bun.
It's not been that easy to get into Inverness because of roadworks on the bridge and other hold ups because of work on the flood defences.

After a trip to Wicks to get some more decking oil we headed down to parking opposite Ness Islands. There were lots of cars parked there as there were a group of fisherman, seen here, eating their lunch. A few of them entered the water with their rods and started to fish in front of us.

' This beautiful river has built a solid reputation for its fine catches of salmon , sea trout and brown trout which have delivered years of pleasure for the region's anglers and visitors from many parts of the UK and overseas.'

It was lovely to see so many people enjoying the sunshine. People were walking along the paths through the islands, joggers running past, cyclist cycling by, children carrying towels to the swimming pool and dogs playing ball and several picnickers including us.
