lido

Woke and rose at 6.17am. Left the house at about 6.30 and cycled to Parliament Hill Lido at Gospel Oak, about 4.5 miles east, for the £2 early session, from 7-9am. I followed the easy route given on the Transport for London website’s cycle planner. The water temperature was 22 degrees, very acceptable. Wish the North Sea was that warm. Opened in 1938 and refurbished in 2005, the lido is lined with stainless steel and measures 60x28 metres. I thought when I got in that it was 50m long so swam 20 lengths to match what I do at Scarborough’s indoor pool. The water was clean and clear and the sun was out. It was exhilarating.
