A Very Windy View from Above the Rapaki Track

Today's shot has a bit more daylight than most of my recent ones, on account of if being captured during supervision of a work photo shoot in the early afternoon.

The location was up on the rocks that stand above the Rapaki track, right close to where the Summit Road is currently shut. Our photographer (from a local creative professional studio) positioned the students in an excellent location. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the billboards and adshels turn out.

Whilst the shot was fun, the howling Nor'Wester wasn't. Whilst Christchurch bathed in 20C winter weather (yes, believe it or not it is winter here), up on the rocks we were being buffeted until we could barely stand unsupported. Ah, the vagaries of the Canterbury climate....

This shot is looking back over the crater rim towards Lyttelton Harbour, specifically the Head of the Bay and Gebbies Pass. It's interesting to get a different angle than my usual. To help with the insane depth of filed, I've focus stacked 7 exposures here, just to make sure that everything was sharp, front to back...
