What are these fruit?

After the brown pond yesterday, the River Medway that flows through Tonbridge was looking extremely green today. The view was brightened up enormously by this tree with its red fruit - I know someone will tell me what they are.

PS internet research suggests the brown colour of yesterdays pond could be because it is new and the colour may change when everything settles down. The pond was not there on my last visit 6 months ago. I will keep an eye on it.
