Bowled Over

Today was a chance to get the twins to the Commonwealth Games and specifically the bowls. Fraser fresh from his success last evening was raring to go and an early start saw us arrive at 8 15 and take up residence on Green 4 for the mens singles quarter finals. We were sitting directly behind the Australia v Malaysia match and Aron Sherrif, one of the stars of world bowls, was a joy to watch.

In the afternoon we decided that we would stay on Green four and watch the two women's triples semi-finals. The Aussie girls were brilliant, enthusiastic, vocal and pleasure to watch.

After their match we caught up with Lynsey Clarke and Karen Murphy again two of the stars of world bowls, they were fantastic with the twins, talking away and encouraging them, genuinely interested in hearing about their enjoyment of the sport. They posed for a photo and before they left they gave the twins a little golden kangaroo pin reserved for players and officials as far as I know, a lovely gesture from lovely people. Sadly they lost in the final but in our household tonight they are true champions
