Whiterocks ASSI

Today's the day ......................... not to play golf

The main reason that we planned this trip to Ireland was so that Margaret and Ron could play golf on a few of the famous Irish Links Course.

They are on a mission to play the 250 or so Links Golf Courses of the world. For the uninitiated - a links course is one that is found next to the sea and has been constructed on the sandy dune soil that is to be found there. They have a book that has been written about them all - and they are slowly working their way through it. A couple of weeks ago though - disaster struck when Margaret fell and dislocated her shoulder. She won't be able to play golf for a while.

So this is the view westwards along the Antrim coast towards the fabulous golf courses of Portrush and Portstewart. Just as well there were other compensations in the form of the Whiterocks Area of Special Scientific Interest ....................
