Get out strong, commit

Our own wee marathon of games activity continued at the athletics again.

Amazing night of action. We saw a competitive pole vault, gutsy 10k runs, exciting relay heats - including the first run out at the games of a certain superstar Jamaican.

But the moment of the night, and one of the games for me, was Lynsey Sharp in the 800 metres.

After a season of surgery, and 24 hours of sickness, she stormed to silver with the whole of Hampden on its feet screaming her home.

Cameras trained on her hand as she lay exhausted and picked up the personal message scrawled on her hand: "get out strong, commit."

That will stay with me for a long time. What a privilege to be there.
