I don't think I have ever before blipped the same thing two days in a row.

The morning started quite dry and sunny but around lunchtime the sky darkened and there was the most tremendous downpour that lasted far longer than such sharp showers usually do.

When it eventually finished I went out to find streams of water all round the house, fortunately running away from the building but on one side the water was fed by a torrent coming down the steps from the grass by the pond which had flooded yesterday and which today was even worse with fast flowing water now covering the lawn and paths (one of which was completely hollowed out) and pouring over the edges of the pond - something I have never seen in the fifteen or so years it has been there.

This view is taken right beside the red bench in yesterday's picture. I was standing in about six inches of water.

Later we had to walk down our access track and clear the open drains which were blocked with debris, brought down by the sheer volume of surface water.
