Scottish Comma (Fife) - New Generation.

Comma Butterfly - Polygonia c-album

The first comma butterfly in Fife for over 180 years was reported in 2003

Since then, I have seen them in three years.

In May this year I blipped one that appeared to have emerged from hibernation. http://www.blipfoto.com/entry/4350597
Obviously, it was not alone, for today I encountered TWO individuals from the new generation that has bred this summer.

They are probably not the direct offspring of the one I saw in May as today's sighting was two miles away but still on the outskirts of Kirkcaldy.
