Renovating and fixing

Yesterday the boat, today at home. The picture shows the things we renovated and fixed today on the lawn.
We started off on our favourite outdoor wooden table, purchased with the house 27 years ago and already old then. It had two very dodgy legs and we hadn't used it for couple of years so we decided to really fix it this time after years of bodging. It took time and ingenuity but I think we succeeded.
Then it was on to the kick sledges, used in winter. The old one (at least 30 years old) was holding together but very loose. I took it apart and re-glued everything back together, at the same time tightening all the screws and nuts and bolts. It felt really solid at the end. Then it as time for the newer one. After two seasons all the joints fell apart and it waited a few years in the cellar for today! Using the older one as a model I glued, screwed and bolted until it too was solidly holding together.
Meanwhile Jan had been finishing the table with sanding and oiling, and then oiled the four chairs that came with the table.
Finally Jan gave our bench a tightening up and adjusting. The bench had been rescued from a container, too tatty for the government department to use in the gardens. That was 18 years ago and we've used it every summer since.
It felt really good to get all these jobs done after years of thinking about them! What will we do tomorrow?
