Today's the day ........................ to sunbathe

The buddleia bush in the garden has been covered in butterflies today - peacocks, tortoiseshells and these beautiful red admirals.

Did you know that you can hear a butterfly flying - if it flies past your head close enough? I was supposed to be hanging out the washing but I just stood and watched them dancing about for a while. They were entrancing.

This Vanessa landed on the top of a fence post, spread its wings out - and sunbathed long enough for me to nip inside and grab my camera .....................
