Amsterdam - The last day

Well, it was our last day in Amsterdam and it is fair to say that it has been quite a week!

If you get the chance, Amsterdam HAS to be on your list of places to visit......however, you might want to concentrate on the older part of the City if you want to avoid the German stag night hoards!

However, getting into the old part and getting an 'I Amsterdam' card opens up a city that will fascinate, intrigue and entertain!

So, on the last day before heading off to the Schiphol Airport there was just enough time to fit in a trip to the Maritime museum. Now this might not be everyone's cup of tea...but when you are Scottish and you have free entry to something....there is a voice in your head saying.."Go!...Go!...Go!.....it's free!"

...and I am glad that I succumbed!......it is actually a very interesting story that it tells.

However, apart from the narrative, it is also set in a spectacular building with...you guessed it!...an equally spectacular roof! So this is the gigantic spider's web roof that covers the main Courtyard....and it is a genuinely special sight!
