Bisques

Two free shots used, 19 to go. Fergus, the more experienced player was taking on Lynn. They had been playing together in a double partnership for most of the day. This last game of the day, they were pitted against each other in the singles. Lynn got her first ball round using about 8 free turns. But then lost confidence, and just failed to get the second around with the remaining bisques. Me, Alan, Norman, and Lynn watched on as Fergus took his two balls round to win narrowly. And then he turned from opponent to coach to explain what she had been doing well and what she needed to think about.

After my doubles match in the morning, I cycled up to George Street to a festival event about the politics of land ownership in Scotland with the author of "The Poor Have no Lawyers". A good book, but a frustrating event.

Then a cycle back to Fettes. And in my second doubles game of the day, I ran hoop 4 to penult, straight through.
