Moorhens Contre-jour!

I nearly didn't go for my walk after work. I was a bit tired and the forecast was for a thunderstorm just at the time I would have set off!

But at the junction on my drive home where I could head for Trentham or go home I kept heading towards Trentham - and I'm so glad I did.

The weather forecast was just that and it was a lovely early evening walk with beautiful light.

These two youngsters were preening at the bottom of the weir at the far end of the lake. In just the right position for me to shoot into the sun get this lovely halo of light around each bird. And even through their nostrils!

Still going strong with 100 Days of Nature!
