Anticipation

Woken by the sound of fog horns wasn't going to be good. Not only was it pre-dawn, it also meant the mist had set in. The aforementioned anticipated sunrise didn't happen for us. We did hear the weakening a of the zoo residents, but we couldn't see a thing.
Visibility was approx 65m.

It also meant on our way back toward our morning stop we nearly missed seeing the Harbour Bridge as we went under it.
A wander around Goat Island (formally the original Cockatoo Island) - Sydney's answer to avoiding an attack was to build a wall & store gun powder in bulk.

Thankfully it's use wasn't needed - I'm not sure Sydney would have survived if it was.
The island was also the supply of sandstone to build what is now Circular Quay

On the island, this chair sits surrounded by nesting seagulls near the rock Boney was chained to...but that's another story.

The mist lifted just after 10:15 & the harbour shone
