Oh I do like to be beside the seaside

Had a really lovely blipmeet with Drop in (Louise) . We've been meaning to get together for ages so today we met at the beach café and over three cups of tea we chatted and laughed and enjoyed the view. This man walked past in his Yellow wellies and the little dog running behind.

The day turned out surprisingly warm and sunny and we drove up the Eathie Road to watch the old war planes flying over Fort George. The weather was nice enough for the parachutist to fall from one of the planes.
We parked next to the old barn that we like and noticed that someone was in the house next door. There has never been anyone around for years. They came over concerned that we were going inside as it's unsafe. They have just inherited it and the farm land, 58 acres and the farmhouse after the owner died recently. Unfortunately the buildings have been untouched for 7 years after the lady went into a home so they have become quite derelict. We were invited in to see the old farmhouse. It was like stepping back in time. A lovely building with original features still intact. Marvellous old fireplaces and a super carved staircase.
The new owners have been clearing the house of all the belongings left behind in this time warp. Old newspapers from 1952 have been found. Old photos of the previous owners hung over the fireplace by chains. A rusty pair of scales with all the weights was still there. A fascinating place and we are thankful to the lady for giving up her time. She is rather excited about doing the old place up and making it a home. It certainly had a lovely warm feel to it and the views across the firth to Fort George and beyond are simply stunning. The steading is going on the market soon. We have bought a lottery ticket !
