Plus ça change...

At some point yesterday afternoon this appeared on our concrete. The masons said it must have been insects, though the kids felt I had done it to trick them (I hadn't).

Last night a tremendous storm blew up while we were watching the Lego Movie (in French, no less). Literally we went from no wind to wind too strong to stand up in in the time it took for a shutter to slam. And then it rained and we had near continuous lightening for an hour or so. Enough rain that it made an unwelcome appearance in the house. And enough rain that, bringing a glass in this evening from the garden (that was empty yesterday) it was 2 inches full of water, even despite a day's evaporation... No need to water the tomatoes tonight...

Up early this morning to stuff our French visitor with food (Mr B's thick pancakes, bacon and eggs) before taking him home. Then a fairly lazy afternoon: The Man With the Golden Gun for most of the gang, sewing and a chat with the neighbours for me.

A call with Mam, an easy leftovers dinner including making TallGirl helpless with laughter over hula hoops AND raspberries on her fingers at the same time (neither made an appearance, but the thought of be-hatted and be-skirted fingers was too much for her to take) and a relaxing evening of telly beckons (if Mr B can escape CarbBoy's story-telling / monologuing vortex...)

Meanwhile I made a decision about my poorly Mac, by just putting the decision off for a while. Phew.
