But, then again . . . . .

Harley Davidson.

Mrs TD and her sister have gone to Brummagem for the day to see a quilt show leaving me Merlin minding. We started off with a visit to the local "Animals in Need" coffee morning, but nobody wanted M; on the way out we passed this motor bike, it's owner is obviously not only a Harley enthusiast but also a Dylan fanatic having adorned the fuel tank with a portrait of the great man together with lots of miniature replica posters. According to the number plate, this showroom shiny bike is 27 years old.

My first impressions were that it had been heavily customised: short exhausts (that look as though they were designed for appearance and maximum noise rather than maximum performance and quiet) and the micro seat and fuel tank. A quick look at the online catalogue show that these are standard fittings on some of the production bikes, but then Harley did incorporate modifications by owners into the designs. If you're that way inclined, there are some interesting details of the design on Wikipedia.

I've just posted "Striking a Pose" from July 28.
