Ice in August?

Well we've certainly experienced many of the elements today including large pieces of ice! Apparently in Windsor, children were screaming, as the hailstones were raining down on them. 'Big Bertha' has brought a stange mixture of thunder, lightning, gale force winds and rain, with outbreaks of hot sunshine in-between the storms.

My apple tree has taken a battering, leaving the lawn strewn with hundreds of half ripe apples.

The dogs and I managed to dodge between two heavy downpours and although there were some fantastic skies to photograph, I didn't dare take my camera out with me, as I don't think my backpack would have been sufficiently waterproof to protect it.
