Take Me Out To The Ball Park

The eager buzz of helicopters around our neighbourhood announced that the High School Baseball Tournament has commenced, and Koshien once again seems to be the most highly populated town in Japan. The temperature rocketed accordingly because, of course, nature needs to punish all those poor high school baseball players already poised to snap under pressure from their coaches and their parents.

Anyway, the crowds always thoroughly enjoy this annual spectacle. I love this event too, although I prefer to enjoy the sights off the pitch.

At the risk of sounding dreadfully pretentious, this photo reminds me of George Seurat's A Sunday Afternoon On The Island Of La Grande Jatte.
