Scrub Clearance

This is a photo from work today. The job is a stinker. There is nothing difficult about it but it is very slow as our pace is dictated by the woodcutter clearing very dense scrub in front of us.
You can see his considerable efforts here, clearing interlinking jaggy lower branches of conifers. Without his intervention you could barely walk through this far less take survey measurements.
The route to be surveyed is of complex geometry swinging left then right in long bends. Therefore we cannot simply say cut in that direction straight for a mile and we'll come back next week. He clears a bit, we traverse forward, then mark out the next bit of alignment for him to work to and so on.
