A Thoughtful Thankyou

We used to have two horses living here -- Rubicon (the hero of yesterday's tale), and his best friend Buttonwood. Buttonwood was a retired racehorse, who had broken a bone in her foot during her first (and last) race. Because of her injury, she was never ridden again, but lived out her long, peaceful life grazing in our fields and keeping Rubicon company. Sadly, she had to be put down at the end of July.

The other day, we received this lovely note from her owners, thanking us for letting Buttonwood live here, and telling us how happy she had been. I am so thankful for the photographs that were enclosed -- I tried many times to take her picture, but was never happy with the results!
