Light & sight

EXIT

Many moons ago I was wandering through some two-horse town in the Midlands with my Dad. At the time my brother lived in Bearwood in Birmingham and our Dad used to come across from the US more or less every year to visit. A threadbare air prevailed – it was clear that better days had been and gone. I’ve long forgotten the name of the town itself Dad’s comment when he passed the second or third vacant shop along the High Street has lingered in my mind ever since. “A few empty saddles in the old Corral I see…” That was a very Dad thing to say. We continued our search for a watering hole, imaginary spurs a’clink.
