Gulf What?

Gulf Fritillary, (Agraulis vanillae) that is. One of my favorite butterflies, it ranges from San Francisco Bay to Baja California; resident throughout southern U.S. into Mexico. It emigrates northward into the Great Basin, Rocky Mountains and the Midwest, Great Lakes and the mid-Atlantic States. But it's stay in the northern climates is temporary because neither it nor it's host plants can tolerate the winters.

The Gulf Fritillary is often found flying out in the Gulf of Mexico, far from any land.

Last, but certainly not least...
If you suffer from Arachnophobia you probably shouldn't bother looking at this BANANA SPIDER!
