Today we have
- Travelled by train to Newcastle – just over two & half hours
- Checked into our accommodation before walking along the waterfront and eating lunch beside the water
- Climbed the Queen’s Wharf Tower for a spectacular view of the area
- Watched a solo Pelican being fed by locals fishing along the seawall
- Climbed to Fort Scratchley – this site was one of several that defended Newcastle and its port since 1822
- Returned to the hotel for a cool drink and to rest our sore feet.
- Enjoyed a stonegrill meal in the restaurant
- Watched the second half of the rugby game between Australia and New Zealand – playing for the Bledisloe Cup.

From the brochure - “Stonegrill Dining is an interactive experience that presents your meal cooking on a heated stone at your table” and served with vegetables or salad and a sauce.

Thank you...
...for your continued comments. I really appreciate reading them – and apologise for my limited time on blipfoto at the moment.

In reply to yesterday’s photo – my son really enjoyed his birthday. Thank you to those of you who sent birthday wishes. It has been special being with him and his family.
