1st impressions

Neither of us have said it out loud, but we're both thinking it.

This isn't quite the house we bought.

This house is a shell. It's shabby, the garden's neglected.

Above all, it's smaller than we remembered.

When we last saw the inside of this house in February/march,this was a home, full of photos, pictures, furniture and it felt warm and comforting and like a home.

Now, all I can see is cracks in walls, and the small electricity pylon at the back of the garden, which is humming. I didn't notice the hum last time I was here...

Have we done the right thing?
