Touch typist

Can't believe it's just over 50 years ago that I was at Secretarial College in Aldershot and learnt to touch type 0n one of these!! Since then I've moved onto electric typewriters with tiny bits of memory, then onto huge computer contraptions, smaller computers with keyboards, laptops,phones and tablets!!

Today these and other 'golden oldies' stood in a fireplace at The Golden Heart Inn, Nettleton Bottom, Birdlip, Glos where we called in for lunch on our way down to Poole.

After settling in at the RNLI Hotel we went for a bracing walk along the Quay, very windy here, and saw the spectacular Twin Sails Bridge go up to allow tall ships to pass under the road bridge. Got some photos of the whole procedure, of course!! But hope to get a shots of it tomorrow evening when it's all lit up and doing it's thing!!

Met our friends in the Slipway Bar and then down to the Riggers Restaurant for a very good dinner and lots of chat and lots of catching up.
