Autumn leaves and Spring shoots

When we left home on our long holiday our Indian bean tree was just beginning to show signs of new life with leaves about the size of the small ones in this shot that are still appearing. We were away when the new leaves turned lime green and now they are deep green and beginning to fall. The large leaf measured 13 ins from base to tip and 11 ins across the broadest part. Soon the tree will have to have its annual haircut and about 4 ft lopped off all round!
We have spent all morning on the garden trying to dig out the bindweed roots, but I'm sure it will be back again next year. I think a trip to the garden centre may be on the agenda to find some winter colour.
