What are grandparents for?

Lucas was here; the last time before going back to school. He had been given a new Lego set as a reward. We (me) helped him build it. We also walked the dogs on the beach, which he loved. We walked our as far as we could, we looked at the birds, we got our feet wet with the small waves. We read a Secret Seven book. We went to Luca's, a famous ice cream shop. Lucas chose three scoops of chocolate ice cream, a chocolate flake, small marshmallows and a lot of chocolate sauce. This is the best ice cream ever, he said :)). I followed his lead. He was quite right. What are grandparents for?
