Litter with a message

I was early for a dental appointment this morning, so I wandered around the outside of the office looking for a blip. I spotted this cigarette package with the graphic warning, tossed into the grass on the side of the road. Barb Tarbox died of lung cancer in 2003, and her family wanted this image of her on cigarette packages. This very brave woman spoke out against smoking until she no longer could.
G's sister died of lung cancer in 1999. She was 49. Her birthday was on August 10, and I've been thinking of her. I often do. One of my saddest memories is of visiting her in the cancer clinic when she was dying and helping her go outside to have a cigarette. What an addiction. Strange that this package is the first thing I saw today to blip.
