Seed

There are thousands of these seeds scattered around our area at the moment.

The tree is a Rosewood or Tipuana tipu which is a native of South America and they were planted as street trees years ago throughout Perth because they were fast growing and give good shade. In recent times they have been declared a weed because of their prolific seed production. The seeds have a wing and easily spread far and wide in the wind!

The beauty of the fragile state of this particular seed caught my eye as it glowed brightly in a patch of sunlight. The colour matched the little bit of paint on the road (it was a side road with no traffic:).
