Feeling better...

Hero has had a rough couple of weeks.

First he was diagnosed with the tick-borne disease Anaplasmosis. He started a 28 day long very strong penicillin cure. A week later he injured a dewclaw and was sedated to have it removed. And yesterday - again just a week later - he was sedated to have some kind of lump removed from his lip.

Hero is a strong and very fit dog, but it has been obvious today that his body is getting tired. I think he will need a couple of easy days to recover fully from all of this.

His head however is - as you can see on this picture - not ready to slow down. He is a Border Collie and they will keep going until they drop. I think it will be my responsibility to make sure he gets plenty of rest, so he had a good morning run with the other dogs and our afternoon walk was on lead around the park.

He has been very cuddly today and has wanted to sit on my lap since we came home. He is rather big for a lap dog! Hopefully he will feel less clingy and more like himself tomorrow.

In other news - Biscuit, Hero and I have been chosen to represent Denmark at the Nordic Dog Dancing Championship in Lilleström in Norway in the middle of November. It is very exciting and I am so looking forward to it. My friend Helle and her girls are going too and Renate and Jette, whom we have been training with.

See you tomorrow
