Wastwater from Great Gable

We took advantage of fine weather to do Great Gable. It is usually cloudy when I go up there but today we had clear views despite the fact that it became quite overcast.

Most people who go up Great Gable aren't aware of the ledge to the South West of the summit that gives these stunning views over Wastwater. It's only a couple of hundred metres from the top and a great place for a lunch stop although there is a sheer drop at the edge.

I haven't got a good head for heights and it took some courage for me to edge towards the drop to take this picture. We could see the Isle of Man and Ireland in the distance
